Hello Team and Soccer Families,

Coach Mick here! As we get closer to a new soccer season, it’s time to talk about pre-season preparation. Preparing correctly before the season begins can help our young players hit the ground running when the whistle blows for that first match. Let’s explore how we can prepare for the upcoming season.

Fitness Training

After a summer break, it’s essential to get back into the swing of things with some fitness training. This doesn’t mean running endless laps around the field but focusing on soccer-specific fitness such as agility, stamina, and speed.

Skill Work

While fitness is important, don’t forget to work on skills too. Dribbling, passing, shooting, and defending are all crucial parts of the game that can be practiced at home or in the park.

Team-Building

Pre-season is a great time to build team chemistry. Try to spend time together off the field as well, such as team outings or group activities.

Setting Goals

As a new season starts, it’s a great time to set some individual and team goals. What does each player want to achieve this season? How can the team improve from last year?

Health Check

Ensure all players are ready to play physically by scheduling any needed medical check-ups. And don’t forget to check all your soccer equipment too!

Mental Preparation

Finally, get ready mentally for the new season. That means building a positive mindset, visualizing success on the field, and getting excited about the games to come!

Remember, pre-season preparation is all about laying the groundwork for a successful and enjoyable season. So let’s put in the work now and look forward to the fun and excitement of the games ahead.

Ready for action,

Coach Mick
